Welcome again, friends! Welcome to my art blog!
Now that I’ve finally started my own personal blog, it just doesn’t feel right to not talk about my artwork too. It’s been such a huge part of my life for so long, so it’s only natural that it gets its own place on my site. Writing is actually very natural for me too, so it’s a wonderful thing to be able to combine my two favorite outlets.
As some of you know, I’ve been on a long hiatus from my art practice. It’s been intentional and unintentional. To sum up the reasons why, I could say that life required my full, focused attention for a few years before I could keep the ship sailing. I had to stare at quite a few forks in the road before I could figure out what direction I was even walking in. As we all know, there will be times in our lives when we are forced to reflect on ourselves. I am deeply grateful that I had the good sense—and the luxury—to pause and really have a good stare into that reflection when it came upon my path. The result of all this reflection is a newfound peace within myself I did not know was possible. It’s a wonderful feeling to look out at this horizon. I think my work in the coming years should further illustrate this new understanding I have. For me, these sorts of things are best shown and not told.
What I really wanted to say in this post is that I’m back on the saddle! It’s been so long since I’ve posted anything new on here, but I finally have something that I really like in the works. I’ve rarely ever talked about my artwork anywhere publicly, so bear with me and all this fumbling newness.
I remember one time while I was still in college I had this interview with my dear friend Kiran that I get nostalgic about from time to time. I’m happy to report that that excited adolescent version of myself is still alive all these years later.
Here’s a tiny little piece of what I’m currently working on for those who were nice enough to click on my post! Thank you! 🍀 -K
